At Friedline & Carter, our Liability Division is dedicated to assisting insurance companies by ensuring fair and prompt settlements. We specialize in investigating third-party claims and suits against insurers, typically involving property damage or bodily injury.

Our Liability Team leverages their deep understanding of policies and laws, using time-tested investigative techniques, always upholding integrity and high ethical standards. We are incredibly proud of the expertise and credentials of our Liability Team. Our team includes two exceptional Liability Adjusters: Debby Ward and Terri Patenaude. From environmental claims to theft to subrogation—Debby and Terri manage it all with proficiency.

Meet Our Team

Debby Ward: As both Vice President and Liability Claims Manager, Debby brings extensive experience to our team. Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and the United States District Court, she has 16 years’ experience in Homeowner Liability, General Liability, Worker’s Compensation, and Personal Injury Claims.  Debby has been a Liability Claims Adjuster since 2019.

Terri Patenaude: Terri joined the insurance industry in 2023 and quickly established herself investigating numerous liability claims throughout Massachusetts. A graduate of Smith College, she has completed the Anderson Investigative Associates Course and earned an Associates in Claims (AIC).

Exciting News: Expansion into Rhode Island

We are thrilled to announce that Terri Patenaude has recently been licensed to practice in Rhode Island. This expansion significantly increases our coverage area for liability claims. Despite its small size, Rhode Island boasts a substantial 400-mile shoreline along Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean offering new opportunities for our services. Terri has excelled in her role here in Massachusetts, and she is eager to extend her expertise to clients throughout Rhode Island.

We are excited about the opportunity to serve the adjusting and risk-management needs of independent agent carriers in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
